Overall Average: 3.2 (uptime = 0; tech = 4; customer = 4; speed = 4; price = 4) Review: I was down most of the time in last week... at one point I had to contact them 7 times in one day.. after 5 years being with them i will have to leave.. I need my emails at all times Company Response: The server which hosts the mentioned account has been targeted by DoS attack that is why there were limited service interruptions. The total downtime of the server during the attack was less than 3 hours. The attacking networks have been blocked and the server has been working normally since then. According to the uptime reports of a third party monitoring agent, the actual uptime of this server from 09.01.2005 to 09.29.2005, is 99.3474 %, which means the total downtime during the month (including the DoS attack) was only 4.5 hours. Overall Average: 2.4 (uptime = 2; tech = 2; customer = 2; speed = 3; price = 3) Pros: It's one of the cheapest web hosting services that I've found. However, they do not communicate well with their customers. Cons: They locked my domain name twice without prior notification and my web hosting account was suspended and they did not tell me beforehand. Company Response: Actually the web hosting account has been suspended due to failed billing of the credit card on file. With HostSearch Standard system, the users rate web hosting companies based on five important factors, Reliability/Uptime, Technical Support, Customer Service & Billing, Server & Network Speed, and Price & Value for money. These are factors that we obtained from our online users survey. They are the factors that most users considered important. Since the reviewers are using the same criteria, we can be certain that the scores were given based on the same standard and they can be used by our users to evaluate the web hosts.

Open Review Method
Before the adoption of HostSearch Standard, we had a review section opened for visitors to write the review and to give the rating in 10/10 scale. There's no restriction on the topics that users should talk about in the reivews. Although the reviews were variety, there were no common rules for users to evaluate the quality of the hosts

Review Quality
Even though we develop a system to protect invalid reviews, it's possible that the reviews could be submitted by fake reviewers who want to increase or decrease the overall score of a specific web hosting company. HostSearch asks the question "Was this review trustable and helpful?" to visitors. The answers "Yes" and "No" from this question were calculated by our system and presented as the percentage of the review quality. The higher percentage, the more reliability of the reviews.
