Overall Average: 1 (uptime = 0; tech = 2; customer = 2; speed = 0; price = 1) Review: Tried using a CMS with a Netfirms hosting account - it timed out constantly, losing my edits. Been using the same CMS with GoDaddy awhile now, no problems there. Was this review trustable and helpful to you?

Overall Average: 1.2 (uptime = 1; tech = 1; customer = 1; speed = 1; price = 2) Review: Email servers failed and they lost all email history. They could't recover and couldn't provide any appropriate answer for weeks. Every email responded by different person even with totally irrelevant answers. Lost all my e-mail records (folders, attachments, etc.) back to 2004! Cannot restore and provide no solution. Hide tech support numbers. Poor service. Beware! Domain Hosted: www.wellandrosefestival.on.ca Overall Average: 1 (uptime = 0; tech = 1; customer = 2; speed = 0; price = 2) Review: Netfirms hosting is the worst by far of any web hosts. Netfirms SQL databases crash constantly, Netfirms uptime this year (2010) has been around 95%. Netfirms has cost me thousands in revenue! Their uptime lately with database and web is the worst I have seen. I am finally dumping them (so glad!) and switching all of my domains to a different host. Nerfirms="worst web host ever". They never reply to support emails and will leave you on hold for hours . I have been unable to publish my site for days. Nobody cares. I called them to complain about the speed of my website, they told me to change my DNS server, i didn't work, speed is still very slow. Advantage plan, great cPanel, superb online manual (answer you everything!) better than their CS, always uptimes! Grid hosting has less TOS's restriction than those shared host companies. I considered dreamhost, but Netfirms had a "promo" that gave me their "advantage hosting" for a good price. Since then I've missed countless emails with their unreliable email forwarding. These are factors that we obtained from our online users survey. They are the factors that most users considered important. Since the reviewers are using the same criteria, we can be certain that the scores were given based on the same standard and they can be used by our users to evaluate the web hosts.

Review Quality
Even though we develop a system to protect invalid reviews, it's possible that the reviews could be submitted by fake reviewers who want to increase or decrease the overall score of a specific web hosting company. HostSearch asks the question "Was this review trustable and helpful?" to visitors. The answers "Yes" and "No" from this question were calculated by our system and presented as the percentage of the review quality. The higher percentage, the more reliability of the reviews.
